Saturday the 1st of September was the first of spring but the last round of the Warwick District Sporting Car Club’s Super Sprints B series. The Sprints where conducted on the 3 km K Circuit. 7 runs were completed with each run consisting of 4 laps.
The wind blew fiercely on Saturday but by Sunday it was gone and so were a few unfortunate competitors who had mechanical issues forcing them to retire early.
The competition was strong with class championship points up for grabs as well as the glorious outright championship trophies. Some beautiful shiny Plates for first second and third which would make anyone’s trophy cabinet shine.
The Lotus was the weapon of choice with Geoff Noble once again being the fastest of the weekend and taking bragging rights as the outright B series champion. Matt Plowman was second with his Lotus and close behind in third place was Darrin Siddins in his escort.
Sunday morning was Father’s day. If getting to go racing on their day off was not enough, all the fathers were treated to breakfast at the Pit Exit Café.
The C series is the last series to run for 2018 with round 4 commencing on the 22nd of September . Spectator entry for all the super sprints is free of charge and is a fantastic action packed weekend. Registration for the 2019 Super Sprints series is now open and closes October 1st.
